General

Aktis Hydraulics is intent on protecting the privacy of persons visiting our website or contacting us by email or other forms of communication. We do so in accordance with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)* in effect from 25 May 2018. *In Dutch: Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG)

Personal information you sent us by any form of communication is only used by Aktis Hydraulics for the purpose for which you made the information available and will never be passed on to third parties except when we are so instructed by yourself.

With regard to our website: we do not store personal information if you visit our website, except by your express consent or when you fill-in your personal details in our ‘Contact’ form. If you accept our cookies at the start of your website visit we will collect and process some information from your visit, however this will always be in anonymised or aggregate form to help us analyse and improve the usage of our website. Sections 4 and 5 of this statement provide more details on the usage of cookies and the processing of data from a website visit.

Your privacy rights

As per the GDPR you have the following rights in relation to storing and processing of your information:

You have the right to be informed about what personal information is stored about you
You have the right to have this information rectified or to have this information erased
You have the right to retract or limit any prior information usage consent.
You have the right to complain against processing of your information or ask that the processing is to be restricted in a way befitting your personal situation.

We will always respond to your claims or requests in relation to these rights and adjust our storing or processing of your data immediately unless there are compelling legal reasons not to do so (e.g. if there is a legal burden of proof to retain data for a certain period or in case of legal action).

You always the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoons-gegevens) should you feel that our best efforts are still lacking.

Cookies

The website of Aktis Hydraulics uses third party cookies to collect user information. This information is processed by a third party and subsequently provided to us in an anonymised form to help us analyse and improve the functionality of our website. Cookies are text files that are saved on your computer system or mobile device, assuming you agreed to their usage by responding positively to the cookie pop-up query.

For the cookie collection and processing of the information Aktis Hydraulics uses the Google Inc ‘Google Analytics’ tool. For this Aktis Hydraulics has a data processor agreement with Google Inc. The Google cookie collects and stores personal information like e.g. your IP address, however with the last three digits omitted for privacy reasons. Other stored information includes when you visited the website, what pages you visited etc. Aktis has limited the tool’s functionality such that Google cannot use the collected information for other than the Aktis analysis or to pass on to other parties.

The results we receive are generalised data like number of users spread over the hours of the day and over the days of the week, statistics of the country of origin of the users, statistics of the access devices used (computer, smartphone, tablet), statistics of which pages are viewed most, statistics of number of visiting returns etc. We do not receive any personal information in any form of our users, neither in the form of personal data or IP addresses.

Collection of general website visit data

By default a series of website visit data is passed on from the user to any website he visits in order to allow the website to function and the user to surf the internet. This includes the user’s IP-address, browser details, operating system, previous/next visited websites, date and time, internet provider.

This information is used to keep the website functional and secure and is not used in any way or form by us to trace back to the user. The information is retained for a maximum period of 6 months or for the duration mandated by law if this is longer.

Email or other form of written communication

Emails including personal information contained therein is stored in the cloud by our email service provider. Information received through the contact form is automatically stored by the website host and transmitted to selected addressees within Aktis Hydraulics.

In both cases Aktis Hydraulics has contractual agreements in place such that these providers are not allowed to use any of the information other than for the intended functioning of the Aktis Hydraulics website.

Personal information received by regular mail is stored at safe locations with procedures in place that the storage areas are never left either unattended or unlocked.

Personal information by written communication is stored for a period of twelve months from the last contact, unless there are contractual or legitimate reasons to retain the information longer.

Personal information per contractual requirement or law

As part of any request for provision of personal information required for the execution of contracts or required by law we will clarify to you for which reason the personal information is needed and what the consequences would be if these data are not provided to us.

Application data

If the application results in employment with Aktis Hydraulics the application documents will be stored in compliance with legal requirements and the separate Aktis employees Privacy Procedures. If the application is refused the application documents will be removed/erased no later than 4 weeks after the refusal, unless this is mutually agreed otherwise or unless there are legal requirements to do otherwise.

Links are provided on our website to the social media GooglePlus, LinkedIn and YouTube.

Please note that personal data you disclose on our website will be open to see on your social media pages and the social media companies may process such data outside of our control.

Therefore this Aktis Hydraulics Privacy Statement is not applicable when using these social media websites and we cannot be held responsible for disclosure of personal data through these sites.
