DMA computes the motions of a multi-body system in response to winds, waves and currents. It also accounts for the (frequency dependent) hydrodynamic interactions between adjacent ships.
DMA can be used to analyse the motions of a side-by-side moored LNGC and FSRU for turret moored weathervaning systems, spread moored systems and FSRU’s moored at a jetty. Typical results are:
- Maximum loading arm excursions;
- Maximum accelerations, roll angle and pitch angle of critical points on the FSRU;
- Maximum forces in the mooring system.
