Aktis Hydraulics recently completed a design evaluation for a buoy-moored cruise vessel in the Red Sea.
For the analysis Orcaflex, ANSYS AQWA and DMA have been applied to evaluate the design loads on the catenary moored buoy as well as on the mooring lines connections to the ship. Also, operational criteria for allowable motions have been applied for down-time evaluation.

The metocean ambient and extreme conditions were derived by Aktis Hydraulics accounting for the presence of islands and local fetches based on long term hindcast data.
