We are continually developing new tools and expanding our databases to help our customers better understand or more efficiently complete their modelling tasks, and we have made a number of them commercially accessible to our clients. Whether you would like to buy a license to use the tools yourself, have us guide you through the process, or have us complete the work with the tools for you, we can help find solutions to your problems.
Tools
DIONE is a set of pre/post-processing tools for the SWAN model designed for coastal wave propagation with access to Aktis’ online databases. It enables you to quickly compute nearshore wave climates anywhere in the world in one neat package. DIONE allows the user to calibrate offshore wind and wave data against external sources (satellite, wave buoy, etc.), partition wave spectra, and run the SWAN model in stationary mode all within the suite, with user-friendly physical and numerical checks.
Our team have developed Aktis Dynamic Mooring Analysis (DMA), which is a fully validated time-domain mooring analysis software. The DMA output consists of time-series of all basic vessel motions (surge, sway, heave, roll, pitch, yaw), related velocities and accelerations and motions at specific locations (e.g. manifold) if needed.
The team of Aktis are proud owners and the core developers of SHIP-Moorings when at Alkyon/Arcadis. To support Arcadis and the users of SHIP-Moorings, Aktis now facilitate the users of SHIP-Moorings by creating vessel hydrodynamic databases (dsf files) to allow the licensed users an easy transition to Aktis DMA.
Aktis Non-Stationary Cloud (ANSC)
We have developed a set of tools and procedures to use the cloud for non-stationary modelling, allowing for the determination of results much quicker than running the models on your local computer. ANSC is currently commercially ready with the SWAN model, and the capability to use the package with DELFT-3D is under development. ANSC guides the user through modelling steps such as grid building, boundary condition implementation via Aktis’ online databases, and parallel computations, all within the ANSC tool.
Data
Global & Regional Wind and Wave Hindcasts
Validated global and regional wave models with 45 years of hourly data (2D spectra and integrated parameters) that is routinely updated to include the latest months. The data can be easily downloaded via API from one of our partners data portals or obtained directly from us via email request. If the latest data (latest 2 or 3 months) is required, we ask you to contact you directly.
Aktis Flow and Water Level Data
Validated regional flow models with 45 years of hourly data that are routinely updated to include the latest months. Reach out to us for more information.
Library of Ships
We have an extensive library of ships with over 750 ships that are compatible with our Aktis DMA and SHIP-Moorings software packages. The databases can be tailored to manoeuvring ships as well as for use in (probabilistic) access channel design and moorings calculations.
