Operational and design conditions on the Romanian coast

In the Romanian Black Sea littoral area, coastal erosion represents a real risk for the environment. Coastal erosion is observed on different intensity levels along the 240 km of shoreline. In the present conditions, without taking some intervention measures in the coastal areas, the degradation/retreat rate of the coastline continues.

Aktis Hydraulics provided the metocean conditions and supported the engineers that worked on the protection and rehabilitation project. This task involved local modelling of winds, waves, currents and water levels for operations and design. The water levels turned out to be a critical point and Aktis Hydraulics provided in depth analysis of the various water level sources to give the level of detail required by the engineers on this project.
